Please VOTE YES for the Silver Spade Joint Ambulance District Levy.
This Levy will provide 24/7 support to the Townships of Cadiz and Green, Village of Cadiz and Village of Hopedale.
To keep the levy amount as small as possible, The Silver Spade Joint Ambulance District is asking for enough funds to cover the payroll cost of the EMT’s and paramedics. All other expenses such as fuel, insurance, ambulance supplies, vehicle maintenance, uniforms, and other supplies will be funded by ambulance billing revenue.

A: Hopedale Fire Department’s federal grant to provide EMS coverage 24 hrs/day to Cadiz Twp, Green Twp, Village of Cadiz and Village of Hopedale will expire in 2021. Without a tax levy for funding, Hopedale’s ambulance service will return to an unstaffed ALL volunteer department in 2021. This will lead to significant delays in responding to your emergency call.
A: The volunteers of Hopedale and Harrison County will continue to do their best to respond, however, the declining number of volunteers will make this difficult. The back-up service of Harrison Community Hospital will be required to answer more emergency calls. This will stress the ambulance system beyond its limits, especially when there is more than one emergency call at the same time.
A: This should be the biggest concern for residents and businesses in Cadiz Twp, Green Twp, Village of Cadiz and Village of Hopedale. If the back-up service is on an emergency call and the EMS volunteers are unavailable to respond, there may be no one in Harrison County to respond to your emergency.
